Twitter Test

My test is how many hits can I get to twitter in 5 days following 100 users each day. I will also post 3 hubpages of mine each day to monitor hits from my twits. My main link is to my hub profile page. I have 3 questions I would like answered for this test.

1. How many followers will I get following 100 twitters each day.

2. How many Hits will I generate to my hubpages each day.

3. How many emails will I get from other twitter users.

This is just a personal test to see if I should learn more about twitter and how it relates to generating traffic. I plan on responding to any emails I get and I will keep you posted Each Day, till my experiement is over. Expected Results to three test.

1. I expect about 100 followers

2. I expect to get about 25 emails

3. I expect to receive about 40 hits

Today is January 19, 2009 and I have setup my profile and added my picture and link to my hub-pages profile page. I have followed 100 twitters, I am following 50 at a time so I don't get my self banned for spamming. My first 50 was really better than expected results because I have already have 11 followers. This is not a bad start. My twitter name is hothubs.

After following 100 twitters I now have 31 followers myself. 11 of these followers I did not follow. I believe I getting followers from followers. I have received 3 direct email so far and responded back to all three. I commented on 5 of my followers pages also. So far I have only received one hit according to my URL tracker that I setup for my twitter hits. I am hoping for more as the week progresses. Day one is done but I will update this module if some thing new or more hits progress tomorrow.

My conclusion for today is its not hard to get followers but the hits to my hub-pages is not going to come easy. I ended up with 41 followers and the funny thing is I am now following 102 twitters instead of 100, not sure why yet. I got 5 direct messages. The bad part is I still only got 1 hit to my hubpages. 

Started the day early and have already followed 50 new users. Sent emails to all the people who sent me a direct message. Looks like twitters search is working again so, I can use it to find the rest of my 50 twitters to follow today. I have also posted one of my hubpages with my tracker url.

After following 200 twitters I now have 75 followers. Not bad for just two days of using twitter. I have posted 9 twits and I have received 14 emails from other twitters. Again like yesterday I have two more people I have follewed that showed up later.  The good news is that I got 5 visters to my Hubpages.   

Things have slowed down a bit I reached 102 followers and about 9 visits to my hubpages.  What I have noticed is that some followers are hard to achieve others follow you automatically and some follow you when ever they find out you followed them. I got about 21 emails form other twitters and I have responded back to most but not all.  I am thinking at this rate I will have about 150 followers when all is said and done.  i thing with a dedication of about 10 minutes a day you could start getting more traffic or steady traffic.  Most companies utilize twitter for branding that could take some time, unless I automate most of my twitting.

Everything is moving pretty much just like the other days, I have 133 followers and 25 email messages, I have been responding to some twitters twits and have not heard back from my personal messages.  All the emails that I have received appear to be mostly automatic replies but some are personal.  I have one more day in the test and need to post some more hubpage links to get more hits because my hit count is only at 10 after 4 days. 

I have learned a few things but still have lots to learn. I hope this is helping some of my fellow hubbers because this test so far has taught me some new things.

Well my test has come to an end and I have got 173 followers. Thats about 34% return rate not bad. Just think if I did this for an entire year I would have about 10,000 followers it one year. After a year this could make me some money.  I not sure if I can dedicate myself to this for that long.  I think automating this might be worth it but it would be breaking the rules and that never helps.  This test is been ok and I learned a few things.
